Christmas Magic in London, Part Two

Part two of our day in London! From Mr. Fogg's, we decided to have a Sunday roast of our own at a pub called The Footman, and it was a dismal failure. After waiting an hour and a half left with the waiter telling us five more minutes...oh well maybe twenty...we never got our food. I did have a lovely apple pie spritz, which tasted of butter and warm spices, but I hadn't eaten all day so I was getting hangry. Elowen did, however, receive her sausage roll, and she rated it an enthusiastic two thumbs up.

We had 5 pm tickets for Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland, which is full of rides and lights and Bavarian food and mulled wine.

It was also very full of people, so we didn't do much, but Elowen enjoyed toasting marshmallows and riding the fastest (seriously, seemed unsafe) carousel I'd ever seen. I also got to ride Dr. Archibald Master of Time, which is a steampunk virtual reality ride.

This horse's name is Susan and that's hilarious.

Blurred because she was dancing! Also, she asked a random man if he knew Harry Potter...he said yes he did, and Harry is a fine fellow.

After the park we briefly wandered the streets of London to see the lights, because like I said, London may be the most Christmassy place on earth. It's like being in a movie.

And finally, with me having not eaten in almost 25 hours, we ended up at an Italian place near the hotel for cacio e pepe in a crispy parmesan bowl. It was exquisitely peppery.

Next day...Malta!
